Gators,
Great job this weekend! The coaches were very proud of all of you that swam this weekend. We believe that you swam fast and represented the team well. I have posted both the team scores and the meet results. I am happy to say that we finished 10th as a team. Which is really good considering there were more than 50 teams at the meet.
You can pick up your state awards (top 12 places) in each event and your team pictures at the pool in the office just as a life guard for help.
Remember to keep swimming this winter so that you will be ready to take down some records next summer.

Hello Gator Families!!
We are looking forward to seeing you all Wednesday night, July 25th, at 5:30PM at the swim club for our Annual/End -of-year Swim Team Banquet. The swim team is providing pizza and bread sticks. Each family is responsible for bringing a dish to share. Depending on the first letter of your last name, you will bring either a side dish, or a dessert - and please bring an appropriate serving utensil, if needed (we do not have any). For the past several years, we have been 'blessed' with rain and/or cool weather. Please prepare accordingly. The banquet can last until about 8:30pm. The coaches love to brag about their swimmers!
Swimmers with the last name beginning with letters A-L, please bring a dessert.
Swimmers with the last name beginning with letters M-Z, please bring a salad/side.
Portions should be able to serve at least 10 people.

Hi Gators,
League entries are posted under "Important Links" and will be at the pool tomorrow. Please check and make sure that everything look right. The coaches spent a lot of time putting swimmers in the events we think the swimmers will do best in so please understand you might not be swimming exactly what you want but it is what is best for the team. If you notice a mistake or need to make a change please let me know ASAP.
The schedule for league has also been posted under "Next Meet" be sure to note that the 400's are on Friday. Saturday the meet starts with the medley relay and goes through Backstroke. Sunday starts with the Free relay and goes through the IM.

Alright the Gator the coaches are ready are you? After discussing some relay strategy at the pool today I would say that the coaches are a 2 to 1 favorites to make a clean sweep of both the parent and upper division relays. If you all want to change those odds you better stay till the meet is over and cheer real hard.
Just a reminder warm-up starts at 5:30pm the meet starts at 6:00pm
See you there.

WOW!!!!
I think I am more impressed than tired, and that is saying a lot. The weekend started out on a great note with the meet against AAC. I am not only proud of all the swimmers who swam great and only lost to AAC by 11 points, but I am also proud to say that once again the Gator parents demonstrated how smooth a big meet can go. I can't believe how fast we were out of there yesterday, a BIG thank you to all who helped.
Next I have to say I have never seen such a great performance at the pentathlon than the one I saw today. I special congratulations to second place over all finishers Kim, Inez, Ethan, and Ianna and to all third place finishers Olivia and Alex, (Note Alex took off 15 seconds in a his 50 Fly (that is not a typo 15 seconds) ). I would also like to congratulate all the other swimmers, there are too many to name who swam great and most of them made top six over all.
This weeks schedule
Monday: Regular Practice (Note even pentathlon swimmers should try and come)
Tuesday: Pictures and Pancakes followed by Water World
Wednesday: No Practice
Thursday: No Morning Practice, there will be night practice from 8-9pm
Friday: Regular practice

Gators,
Hope all of you are staying cool, Maybe taking a dip or two in the swamp. Don't forget to sign up for the meet against AAC by tomorrow. Also I forgot to tell you yesterday to sign up the Pentathlon on Sunday if you want to swim it. For those of you who are new or just don't know what a Pentathlon is each swimmer swims all five events Fly, Back, Breast, Free and IM then your time is added up and the fastest time wins. 8 and unders swim 25's and a 100 IM, 9-12 swim 50's and 100 IM and 13-18 Swim 100's and 200 IM. You have to have B times in at least 3 of the five events to swim. Let me know if you have any questions.

Congratulations to all who swam and made it through the long weekend. The coaches are extremely proud of the way you all swam and represented the team. We finished Ken Caryl in 6th place just two points from 5th and very close to 3rd, I think we can beat some of the teams that beat us at state. On Sunday several swimmers swam well and qualified for either league or state. We will get the meet results and best times links updated as soon as possible.
Now looking ahead to Saturday we are hosting AAC at the Swamp, last year we almost beat them so lets get as many swimmers to sign up as possible and see if we can't knock them off their apple tree. We started sign up today, if you plan on swimming please sign up by Wednesday.

Hey all, The coaches wanted to say that you all swam very well yesterday! Even though we did not win the meet we were still able to have swimmers swim best times. AK won league last year, so they are definitely the team to beat. Ken Caryl entries should be posted today, so be sure to take a look at that. There will be no practice Monday, and be sure to check the blog to find out if there will be practice Tuesday. The water needs to he warm enough and the chemicals need to be correct. Gators,
We have our second intrasquad meet tonight. Please be at the arrive a few minutes early to be in the pool for warm-ups by 5:30. It is supposed to be a really hot day today, so try to do something low-key if possible so that you are able to swim some best times tonight!! See you at the pool!
Also I was told this morning that the bathrooms have been very messy after swim team practice. We need to make sure that we are leaving the pool, bathroom, and grounds as they were when we first arrive to the pool in the morning. If you all could clean up after yourselves and make sure your teammates are doing the same that would be wonderful! Thank you so much!
Coach Shelby
P.S. Don't forget to buy your water world tickets! It is a really fun day and the coaches will challenge anyone on The Tortuga!
Also if you all want to learn a really FUN new way to put on your caps be sure to ask Shea Murphy and Emma Berg!

Gators I am so proud of all of you, and I cannot thank you all enough for the support this weekend! You made it such a smooth and wonderful meet, and I would like to give a huge thank you to Lance Carpenter for being a wonderful fill-in coach (Coach Rich and Josh better be careful, he may be taking their spots)! We had so many awesome swims and swimmers qualify for league and state, keep up the good work because it is definitely paying off.
I wanted to send out a friendly reminder that we have an intrasquad meet on Wednesday, and we are swimming at Applewood Knolls on Saturday. We started sign-ups today at practice, and it would be really nice to have everyone signed up by tomorrow for the intrasquad, and for Saturday we need to submit entries Thursday night, so the last day to sign up so that you can be on a relay will be Wednesday. Thank you! See you all tomorrow and don't blow away with the wind today!

In Week 2 of the Foothills Swim Asociation 2012 season the Gators look to continue their perfect season and reach 2-0. To ensure that the Gators swim fast and have a great meet please make sure to be at the swamp for the 6:00am warm-up. Both Coach Josh and Rich will not be in attendace so Shelby will be on her own. Please try and help her my making it to the heating shed on time. The meet entries are posted to the right and they are posted at the pool, take a look and write your events down for tomorrow.

For those of you that have been doing your homework and checking in regularly there is some news. The Gator Records have been updated so you can take out your goal sheet and start making plans for the summer. Another important note is that there will be a parent meeting on June 1st at 6:30, so parents please make sure that your swimmer is represented at the meeting by at least one adult. Also note that we will be closing registration on June 7th so make sure to get your paper work and fees in by then.
I think that is it for now. I will be heading down to New Orleans to visit Luke this weekend, I will be sure to make him jealous over all the fun we will be having this summer.

The days are getting longer, the weather is getting warmer and the students are restless. Add it all up and spring must be turning into summer, and that means it is swimming time. Before you can swim with the big boys and girls in London in 2012 you will need to put a few months of work in at the swamp.
In order for us to kick off this season on the best foot possible I need all of you Gators young and old to make sure they read this message and to check back regularly for important info.
First we need all of you Gator officials to make sure you attend the training so that you can help us shatter young swimmers hopes and dreams this summer. Even if you have been an official before. If you are interested please read the following.
Official’s clinics are coming up. Please remember that all officials, new and returning, need to attend a clinic. New officials must attend the water portion on Thursday May 31st, but may attend any other classroom session. If you have questions, please contact Jim Fernald, jimfswim@comcast.net
Sunday April 22nd at Green Mountain Rec. Center, 4:30pm. Classroom session only.
Sunday May 20th at the Golden Community Center, 5pm. Classroom session only.
Thursday May 31st at the Golden Community Center, 6pm Classroom session, 7pm Pool session.
Thank you in advance for all you do.
Second if you are swimming in the clinic with Coach Josh and Shelby there is an important notice. There will be NOT be a clinic on May 13th because the rec center will be closed for repairs. There will be a make-up session May 20th at CARMADY that would be a great tune up for the first team practice the next day.
Thirdly I have posted registration form for 2012 so please be sure to fill it out and return it as soon as possible.
I have also posted a preliminary schedule please take a look at it but it is not finalized yet.
Remember to check back soon I will be posting information about a mandatory parent meeting, dead line for registration, equipment need for this summer and sure fire ways to make Coach Josh angry by 6:20 in the morning (A must for all new upper division swimmers who don’t want to spend the whole summer swimming fly)
Summer here we come

Hi All,
Sorry it took me so long to post I have just been busy the past week. If you have had a chance to look at results from state you will see that GMST took second in division II. That is the best we have done since I have been with the team so congratulations to all who swam. I would like to give a shout out to the 11-12 Boys and Girls who dominated the meet.
I will post info about the clinics in the next week or two I just need to get the times. Hope to see you all soon.
Keep swimming

Hey All,
Under the state entries I posted a new best times sheet and league results. One cool note about the league results is if you check the 11-12 boys 50free, 200 Free, and 100 IM you might see a familiar name.
Just so you all know I saw the parents doing a rain dance at the pool hoping to rain out the coaches relay tomorrow. I don't know about you but I don't think it will work.

Gooo gators!!!
What a weekend it has been! The coaches are wiped out from all the amazing races that you swimmers did! We did end up placing 4th overall, which is great for our team. The coaches goal for the season was to place in the top 4 in league, thank you for your hard work and helping us achieve our goal! I am going to go ahead and highlight some key races that took place:
-11-12 girls medley and free relay: For all of those who were not there to witness these heart-pounding races, they took first overall in both relays! Congrats to Kaylan, Ianna, Anna, Sydney, and Kenzie. Let's just say the girls had a lot of resting time on the wall after they finished...
Kelsey Bollig: Crushed the 200 IM. Not only did she drop 11 seconds, but overtook the top seed while doing so and made the top seed girl cry! Oh and by the way she also snagged a record! Way to finish strong on your last FSA event!
8-under boys Medley Relay: Finished 2nd overall moving up from their 8th place seed spot!! We are so proud of you Ethan, Mason, Adam, and Ryan!
There are many more that we would love to highlight, but I would be on this computer all night! Congratulations to all you league swimmers we will talk about more key races at the banquet!
Now onto the banquet-

Hey gators,
I hope that you are all home resting up for your big weekend! I have some important information regardging Sunday July 24th.
*Colfax Avenue will be closed Sunday starting at 6:30 a.m. The only places that you will be allowed to cross are at Simms and Federal. This is very important for us because our warm-ups start at 7:00 and it would be really nice and less stressful for the coaches to have everyone on time to warm ups. My recommendation on how to get to the pool would be to take I-70 around to Ward Road and turn left on 44th, or to take I-70 to Kipling. This way you can avoid all of the congestion at those two spots where you are allowed to cross Colfax. If you have any questions feel free to contact me.
Swimmers please keep checking the board at the pool for your entries, we have had a couple of relay changes and I would like all of you to know exactly where you are swimming. Thanks for a great week of practice, the coaches are all excited for this weekend!!
*400 swimmers don't forget about your wake-up swim tomorrow. Feel free to come anytime after 8:00 a.m.
Thank you to the Moore family for relaying the information about the road closure, we really appreciate it!
Thanks,
Coach Shelby

Hey gators,
I just posted all of the league meet information, so check that out. If you have any questions feel free to ask.
* 400 swimmers: We will be having a wake-up swim on friday before the meet. If you want to do this show up to practice anytime after 8:00 a.m. and we will get you guys warmed up and ready to go!
* If you are not swimming the 400 on Friday you still have practice at your normal time.
* Don't forget to find something white to tie-dye on Wednesday!
Thanks,
Coach Shelby
P.S. Happy Birthday Ianna Debrunner! Thanks again for the special treats!

Gators,
We just finished our league entries and we will have them posted at the pool tomorrow on the bulletin board. Please check them to make sure that we entered you in your correct events. We have 64 swimmers that qualified for league! This is a huge number for our team, and the coaches are very proud of all your hard work!
*For practice this week we would like to only have league and state qualifiers, thank you!
This Wednesday we will be having our team ice cream/tie dye social starting at 6:30-8:00. THIS IS OPEN TO ALL SWIMMERS!!! Parents we would love to have you come and hang out! We would also like to ask parents to be there to help with your kids (8-under parents we are asking that you are ALL there to help your swimmers). *If it is going to be stormy we will cancel, last Wednesday was wild enough for the swamp!
We will have night practice this Monday, but there will not be night practice on Wednesday due to our team ice cream/ tie dye social.
If you have any question please don't hesitate to contact us:

Hey Gators,
The coaches just wanted to say congrats on another great meet! Unfortunately we did not win the meet we came up 30 points short. Everyone swam extremely well and we are very proud of you!
For all of those swimming in the last chance tomorrow warm-ups are NOT at 7:40, they are at 7:20!!! Sorry about the wrong time, and we hope to see you all there at 7:20 at AAC!
*If you are deck entering please show up at 7:10 so that we have enough time to get you into the meet!
Next Wednesday, July 20th we will be having our ice cream/tie dye social! Please bring your own t-shirt and make sure that they are tied with rubber bands and ready to be dyed. More information will come soon!
*For practice next week we would like to open practice up to only league and state qualifiers so that we can help these swimmers prepare for their meets, thank you for understanding.
Go Gators!

Hi all,
Hope you are all excited for the meet tonight. This is the third to last chance for you all to make league times so get ready to swim fast. Warm up will start at 5:30 and the Meet will start at 6:00PM
Be sure not to leave the meet early tonight, you wouldn't want to miss the best relay of the season. So far here are the teams competing in the main event 1)Coaches, 2)Parents, 3) Upper division Relay, 4) Mixed 11-12 relay, and 5) Maybe another parent relay? If you parents think you are up for fielding two relays.
FYI- If you look up swimming world records you will see names like Michael Phelps, Ryan Lochte, Natalie Coughlin, and Rebecca Soni but if you look in the front of the record book you will see an astrix that says "all swimming records are held by Rich, Josh, Shelby and Molly of the Green Mountain Swim Team the following are just a list of people that have come closest."

Also we will be continuing sign-ups for the intrasquad tomorrow and starting sign-ups for the AAC meet this Saturday. Hello Gators,
Congratulations again on another successful meet. We did beat the Columbine Dolphins! A special shout-out to Dylan Jacob on setting another team record in the 100 Free. This week is the last week of regular practice. Starting next Monday July 18th practice will be only for league and state qualifying swimmers, so come to the pool this week ready to practice so that you can get those times! Also our team record is 3-1 in FSA competition for the season, be proud of all of your hard work!
Inez and Olivia Moore have been to Mars, that is why there are no signs of life.

Hey Gators,
Just wanted to touch base with you all on a few topics.
1) Intrasquad: The meet will be big tonight so we would like to start right at 6. To do that we need all swimmers here by 5:20PM ready to get in for warm ups at 5:30. We will also need timers so please come by and help out.
2) Pictures: Tomorrow 6/30/11 is the team picture7:30am, If you are doing individuals please be here early to take them. Remember to wear your team suit. The Pictures will be followed by the first annual Gator Pancake Breakfast. From there we will leave for Water World. You will need to find your own ride to and from Water World but there should be plenty of drivers to carpool with. If you have not bought tickets I have been told that we have plenty you can buy tomorrow morning just find Mrs. Long. They are a steel at $23.
3)No Practice Monday 7/4/11 Have a happy and safe 4th!
4) Practice on 7/5/11 will be normal for lower division. No morning practice for Upper Division but we will have a night practice at 8:00 pm for those who can't wait to swim again.
5) Fear of spiders is called arachnophobia, Fear of tight spaces is called claustrophobia, fear of Dylan Jacob is called logic.
See you all tonight

Hey Gators,
Hope you all were able to get caught up on rest this morning. The coaches were really impressed with all of your swims this weekend. I have not yet received the results from the meets this weekend but as soon as I do I will update the best times.
We have an intrasquad meet this Wednesday so if you would like to swim please sign up with a coach either tomorrow or Wednesday morning.
Fact: The only difference between Abby Barmore and God, is instead of resting on the 7th day Abby wins Pentathlons.

Gators,
Wow, is all I can say right now! For those of you that swam at Ken Caryl, the coaches couldn't be more proud of you! We had 20 second drops in best times all the way to first place finishes! The coaches even won a little something...the 'Team Spirit Award', we even have a little plaque to go along with it! The highlight of the meet would probably be when a parent asked Coach Rich if he was still in high school...ask him to tell you that story at practice on Tuesday. Even though it was a long two days you all swam incredibly! Thank you to all of the parents and swimmers for making Ken Caryl another successful meet.
But the world's longest weekend isn't over just yet! Tomorrow, Sunday June 26th we have two meets taking place. The CD meet will be at Mount Vernon Country Club and warm-ups begin at 6:20, so please do your best to arrive 15 minutes early. If you have NOT signed up for the CD meet you need to have cards turned in BY 6:30. After 6:30 they will not take anymore swimmers, so please keep that in mind. The other meet which will be taking place at Applewood Athletic Club is the Pentathlon. Warm-ups at this meet will begin at 6:20, again please make sure that you arrive 15 minutes early.

Hello Gators,
We have received our warm-up time for the CD meet. We won the jackpot and will be warming up 6:20-6:40. Please arrive 15 minutes early. Also if you would like to deck enter for the CD meet you need to do so BY 6:30 am. They will not accept any entries after that time.
Rich was going to post to keep good on his word to the Moores but, Josh told him he couldn't post becasue the Moores made him too mad and this was their punishment. Who ever heard of a car towel anyways.
There are still a ton of Water World tickets, so if you still have not purchased your ticket get on it!! Water World is the coaches favorite day of the year!
Upper division swimmers that are participating in Ken Caryl: practice tomorrow morning for you is optional, but I know that Josh and Rich would love to see the rest of the upper division bright and early tomorrow morning.
I believe that is all the information we have right now, if you have any questions don't hesitate to contact us. Have a great day!

Hi All,
Tomorrow is the last day to sign up for both the C/D meet and the Pentathalon. However you can always sign up for C/D meet at the meet but that is more work so please try and sign up by tomorrow.
Also warm ups are up for Ken-Caryl so check them out and try and get there a little early.

I hope you all like the new look to the swamp. Thanks to Peter we have an awesome new title to our blog.
Congrats to all who swam on Saturday. For the second strait week the GM Gators feasted on Piranhas. The results and best times are posted on the blog so take a look at them when you get a chance.
This week is going to be a very busy one so if you have any other questions please feel free to ask a coach. We have the Ken-Caryl Invite Friday for Upper division, and Saturday for lower division. The warm up times have not been posted yet. As soon as I get them I will post them on the blog. Remember you have to have qualified for this meet. Entries have been posted at the pool so please check to see if you or your swimmer(s) are swimming in the meet.
We also have two meets on Sunday. The C/D Meet and the Pentathalon. In order to swim in the Pentathalon you have to have B times or better in 4 of the 5 events. (Back, Breast, Fly, 100Fr and 200IM) If you have qualified for this meet and don't want to swim it please let me know or I will enter you in it.
The C/D Meet is also on Sunday. Swimmers can only swim in events they C time or slower in. We will also be doing sign ups for this meet this week so if you or your swimmer(s) are interested let us know.
See you at the pool

Brrrrr.
It was a bit chilly out there today but I was glad so many of you made it to practice any ways. I was really impressed with the 8 and unders who all got in. More of them got in than the upper division.
We will have the entries for Saturdays meet at the pool tomorrow if you want to see what you are swimming. If you have not signed up yet you will have to do so at the meet.
See you all at the pool.

Ok I spoke with the Moores today and the deal is on. They were on time today so you are treated to a few words of wisdom from me. I have spent the last few hours figuring out the printer and Meet Manager but I think I have it so the book should be updated by tomorrow.
Note we will have night practice tonight starting at 8pm. I have heard from a few parents who are taking advantage of the pool time. All abilities are welcome.
Also I changed to blog so that it will be viewed as a mobile version on smart phones. Let me know if that works better for you on your phones. Figured you wouldn't want to miss any posts even on vacation.

No, I don't mean Miami. Go Mavs
For those of you who are only thinking of tonight's game I meant the weather. It seems that summer is finaly upon us, and we are in full swing of things at the swamp. Here are a few things to keep in mind in the up coming week.
Water World tickets will go on sale Thursday for $23. First come first serve, so don't wait or you will be paying full price. See Mrs. Long for more info.
Our first night practice was last night we had a great turn out of upper division swimmers but parents, come on we only had one. The parent relay wont beat the 8 and unders let alone the coaches, if you don't show up to practice.
I am also feeling the heat from the Moores to post more on the blog. They claim I am not giving them the appropriate amount of entertainment. So here is the deal every day that the Moores are on time to practice I will post. Sound good Olivia, Inez?

WOW So Many Gators,
I am pleased to announce that this year’s gator team is the biggest we have had since the Kruses have been on the team, and that has been for awhile. There are so many new gators we could use all your help If you happen to see any of these new swimmers or parents wondering around looking confused or lost please help them find their way to the heating shed, team tent or the snack bar for delicious “state qualifying” breakfast burritos. Please do your best to show these new gators the ropes.
The 2011 league times are in as well as the results from the first intra-squad meet. I will get the results from Saturdays meet as soon as I get them.
Tonight is the first night practice I hope that upper division takes advantage of some extra time in the pool. I also wanted to remind you that night practice is open to any and all parents who are interested in improving their stroke, getting ready for the parent relay or just trying to keep up with their children. I hope to see some of you there.

Hi All,
Since we have no students today and my classroom is ready for summer I figured I could spend some time writing to my favorite swim team.
It was good to see so many of you yesterday. It was good to see so many old and new gators getting along so swimmingly. Although I did notice that we were missing quite a few people upper division. But I am sure you are all just busy with grad parties and such and will be coming today.
Now onto the updates if you check under important links I have put up a link to the registration that you can print off, we also have them at the pool during practice. I have updated the link to the state meet qualifying times. However FSA has not updated the league times on their site yet, when they do I will make a link to them.
It seems that the Green Mountain Swim Clubs website is down right now and a lot of people told me they didn’t know what was going on because of that. So if you hear talk of that please direct people to the blog. I promise to keep it running.

Gators,
I am not sure what has gotten into the weather lately I think Coach Luke has sent New Orleans weather to us using some type of cajun Voodoo. Since Coach Shelpy has informed me that she is not mother nature and therefor cant tell me what the weather will be like in four hours we will have to play it by ear. Either way Shelby and I will be there for a few menutes at least to say hi and do a Sun dance. So if it looks good at four we will give it go. If you think it is too cold for those little gators or you just want to curl up and wathch a movie on the couch only mean coach Molly will hold it against you.
Coach Rich
p.s Coach Shelby just sent me this very informative text "it says %50 chance of thunderstorms form 2 on but it has a sun with the thunder and lighting. So I don't know" what I want to know is how do they draw thunder Shelby?

So we have decided to just warm-up at the Splash during our scheduled time. I think we will have plenty of room and time to get warmed up. Please remember that parking might be a little tight so you might want to get there early to make sure you get a spot and can get to the tent.

All I have to say is WOW!
For those you who have not heard yet you are now reading the 2010 Division II League Champions Gator's Blog. I wanted to thank all of you who swam or cheered this weekend, we would not have been able to do it without you.
We will not be having practice tomorrow to give everyone a chance to catch up on sleep and get ready for state. State entries are posted at the pool and I will get them on the blog when I get to a computer that still has windows xp and is compatible with our teams computer. Let me know if you have any questions or problems with the entries assap.
Practice for the rest of the week will be as follows
Upper division 7:30am-8:30am
Lower Division 8:30am-9:00am

Hello
I am excited to see you all tonight at the ice cream social. Hope fully you will eat some ice cream dye some shirts and watch the parents and upper division loose to the coaches in a medley relay. I think the parents have been a little scared and have been practicing the rain dance so that they don’t have to face us coaches.
After looking at the warm-up schedule for league I saw that we only have two lanes for 20 minutes to warm-up 56 swimmers. I think some of our 8 and under swimmers would get run over with 28 other swimmers in their lane. So in order get a complete warm-up in for everyone the upper division swimmers will be warming up at GMSC at 6:30am both Saturday and Sunday. We will warm up till 7:00 and then head down to CKST. Upper division if you need a ride from GMST to CKST after warm-up you need to ask myself or another swimmer we can work out some kind of carpool. We will have to leave no later than 7:30 so please be on time to the warm-up.
That’s it for now

Gators,
Hi all I hope that everyone had a great weekend. We have a lot going on this week so if you are confused in any way about anything please feel free to call me or shoot me an email.
First of all as many of you know league week is upon us I know it has come up fast but I know all of you are ready to swim fast and in order to insure that you do here some tips from the coaches for this week.
1. Practice! I know you are not Allen Iverson and you all know how important practice is it is even more important this week. It is extra important to not only attend practice but also to listen to what the coaches are telling you.
2. Sleep. Sleep is very important, I myself get to bed every day by 8 pm just so I have enough energy to coach all of you in the mornings. I suggest all of you do the same.
3. Relax. It is important for all of you to try and stay off your feet and relax as much as possible
4. Eat Right. Make sure you are eating healthy food. Whole grain pastas with tomato sauce, fruits, veggies. Try to stay away from pop and sugar.
Follow these steps to a successful league meet.
On Wednesday @ 6:00 this week we will be having an Ice Cream/T-shirt dying party. This will be a B.Y.O.T party also know as Bring Your Own T-shirt party. As promised last week the coaches will be putting on a show against the parents and upper division in the annual coaches relay. This will count as your sugar for the day so make sure to eat a healthy lunch.
I have posted a link with the league entries on the blog. These well be the entries at league unless you spoke with me this morning I made those changes. If you are having trouble opening the link try using a different browser if was having trouble using internet explorer.
See you at the pool

Gators,
Due to weather the last 2 1/2 events from last night’s intra-squad were postponed until this evening. If you were entered in one of these events and would like to swim it tonight, we will be warming up around 7:30 and getting started at 8:00 keep in mind we only had a dozen or so events left so it should go quickly. The Coach’s and Parents relay has been postponed till next Wednesday at the ice cream social. That way there will be lots of you there to see the coaches give a live demonstration on how to win to both the upper division and the parent relays.
This weekend is another busy weekend for some of us gators. We have our last dual meet of the season on Saturday against Wheat Ridge at GMSC and on Sunday we have the last chance meet at Green Mountain Rec Center. In order to swim in the last chance meet you have to swim events that you have a B time in and are going for a league time or an event you have a league time in and are going for a state time. There is no need to sign up for this meet, just show up to the Rec Center for warm-up and we will give you cards to fill out.
We will be sending in league entries after the last chance meet on Sunday. Because we have a good chance to place high at league the coaches will have final say on what events swimmers are swimming at league if they have qualified in more than three. However if you have a preference please send me and email with what you would like to swim we will take it in to consideration. Please title the subject of those emails as “League Entries”.
I have added some new photos to the blog’s slideshow so check them out and send me any photos that you would like to see up there.
I think that is it for now.

Gators I know this weekend’s meet was long but you all truly swam amazing. I am sad to say that although you all swam fast we lost a close meet to the Stingrays however we did beat 5Parks who beat us early this year at the swamp. We were really close to beating the Stingrays so lets make sure we get them at league. I Google Docs is having some problems so I was unable to post the meet results and the updated best times sheet. I will work on getting those posted as soon as possible. There will be a best times sheet in the book at the pool.
Todd Otto has informed me that he does not read the blog, instead he expects me to tell him all the important stuff that he is responsible for. And because we all know that he is too busy talking a practice to listen to me, I need your help informing him about up coming events. So please if you see Todd lounging at the pool please relay the following info to him. The more people that tell him the more likely it will stick.
Sign up for the last intra squad has started. If you missed practice today make sure and sign up tomorrow or else you will have to deck enter with cards. If you have not signed up yet and can’t be at practice tomorrow please feel free to email me your entries and I will get you in the meet. As many of you are aware the last intra squad is not only one of your last opportunities to improve your times. But it is also your chance to see the coaches teach the upper division a thing or two about the medley relay in the coaches relay. The Shelbanator has already practiced her victory dance. So don’t be surprised if the upper division swimmers are too scared to show up on Wednesday.
During the meet team T-shirts will also be on sale. They make great tie die shirts so you might want to pick a few. Old shirts will be $5, new Shirts will be $10 and new logo caps will be $10 (they are amazing).

Sorry that I have neglected all of my faithful followers these past few days. I went camping for the 4th and was completely distracted by all of the sweet fire works. I don’t really have to much to tell you except we will not be going to odd events tonight or tomorrow night due to lack interest and length of the meet. Looks like a good decision due to the weather. If you would like to sign up for the meet Saturday you need to sign up by tomorrows practice or else you will have to deck enter. Keep in mind it will be a long meet so plan to be there late.
Upper division we will play water polo Thursday night at 8 so if you would like to play come stop by.
Plan on having practice tomorrow unless the weather is really bad. I will try and post on the blog if we cancel it but some times the software doesn’t work on my phone very well.
Until then have fun and stay warm
Coach Rich.

Hey all,
I hope you all are excited for the 4th and are taking advantage of the weekend off.
I found it interesting that Coach Luke is so busy down south that he could find time to come visit us at the swamp but he was able to find time to post on our blog and stock us all through Ken-Caryl results. I will make sure to make him really home sick by telling him all the awesome stories when I see him next month. Hopefully he will make a trip west to see us some time.
I am not sure what Water World put in the water that made upper division think that their log weekend started a day early and that they didn’t need to attend practice today. I don’t think I need to name names you know who you are. I know some of you have been at practice on a regular bases and need some extra sleep every once in a while but those of you who spent two weeks down under really need to make as many practices as possible.
Alright keep in mind league is coming up faster than you think only 14 more practices till league weekend. Make sure you take advantage of them.
Coach Josh also wanted me to remind you that all of us coaches will be celebrating the 4th and in order for all of you to do the same we have canceled practice on Monday the 5th.
Have a great holiday
